That the ride heights would decrease with speed makes perfect sense given the fact that there seems to be some aerodynamic down force generation. If the spring-damper model for the tire is valid, then as speed increases tire stiffness (vertical) should INCREASE. Without aerodynamic down force, if only tires are able to function freely (suspension blocked solid), then as speeds increase the ride height should stabilize or increase. Centrifugal forces at 300 kph (186 mph) are considerable and would also tend to increase ride height (to the limit imposed by the circumferential tread belts, or the first critical velocity of the tires) with speed. This article appears to be self-contradictory and at odds with common sense. BPW
